Italcementi inaugurates a green construction research laboratory at the Red Kilometer in Bergamo

The heart of Italcementi's research was inaugurated at the Kilometro Rosso in Bergamo. The laboratory was built to a design by the American architect Richard Meier. The objective is technological improvement in terms of materials and green construction techniques. The Minister of the Environment Clini was present.

In the park scientific and technological Red Kilometer of Bergamo was inaugurated the "heart" of the research of the Italcementi group: the new research and innovation center of Italcementi i.lab, built to a design by the American architect Richard Meier. In the morning the Minister of the Environment Corrado Clini cut the ribbon together with the president of Italcementi,
Giampiero Pesenti, to the managing director Carlo Pesenti e to the top management of the group.

The new building develops on an area of ​​23 thousand square meters and hosts engineers, technicians and researchers of the research and development department, of the laboratory management of the Group technical center and of the innovation management of Italcementi. i.lab is the synthesis of the most advanced technology in terms of quality of materials and technologies for green construction.

"Innovation represents the strategic lever through which Italcementi aims to build its advantage competitive – said Carlo Pesenti explaining that the goal of the group is the continuous research of processes of sustainable production and architectural solutions innovative.

Around 17pm on Monday, the stock gained 0,13%, trading at 4,53 euros.
