Taking inflation into account, in 2015 the purchasing power of Italian households increased by 0,8% for the first time in eight years. In the fourth quarter alone, on the other hand, it decreased by 0,7% compared to the previous quarter and by 0,9% compared to the fourth quarter of 2014. This was communicated by Istat, specifying that in 2015 the disposable income of Italian families increased in current values of 0,9%, while in the last quarter of the year the figure recorded a reduction of 0,6% compared to the previous quarter and an increase of 1,1% compared to the corresponding period of 2014.
Households' propensity to save was 2015% in 8,3, unchanged compared to 2014. In the fourth quarter of 2015 alone, however, it was 8,1%, down by 0,8 percentage points compared to the previous quarter and by 0,3 percentage points compared to the corresponding quarter of 2014.
