The consumer confidence climate index rose in January. The indicator, based on 2005=100, increased to 98 from 96,4 in the previous month. Istat communicated it.

The economic component decreased to 92,0 from 92,9 while that referring to the personal framework improved (from 97,3 to 100,3). The indicator of the current climate increases from 95,0 to 99,0, while that relating to the future climate is substantially stable (from 97,4 to 97,5).

With regard to the country's economic situation, there was a slight deterioration in assessments on current conditions (the balance passing from -129 to -130) and a significant deterioration in expectations (from -18 to -26). Opinions on the future trend of unemployment remain stable (the balance is 67).

Assessments and expectations on the household's economic situation improve: the balances change respectively from -66 to -58 and from -19 to -14. The balance of assessments on the family budget increases from -24 to -18. Opinions on the current savings opportunity are stationary (132 balance), while favorable opinions on future possibilities decrease, from -58 to – 60 the relative balance. Evaluations on the opportunity to purchase durable goods show an improvement, with the balance passing from -78 to -91.

The balance of judgments on the recent trend in consumer prices decreased slightly (from 33 to 32). Evaluations of the evolution of prices over the next twelve months indicate future increases: the balance passes from -11 to -7. At the territorial level, the climate of confidence is increasing throughout the country.
