In February, the index of contractual wages Italian companies remained unchanged compared to January, while they grew by 1,4% on an annual basis. This was communicated by Istat, specifying that in January there was an increase of 0,5% compared to December 2012 and of 1,5% compared to January 2012. Overall, in the first two months of 2013, wages grew by 1,4 .2012% compared to the corresponding period of XNUMX.

The sectors that showed the greatest trend increases in February are food, beverages and tobacco (3,6%); textiles, clothing and leather processing (2,8%); public establishments and hotels (2,7%). On the other hand, zero variations were recorded for energy and oil, telecommunications and for all sectors of the public administration.

Meanwhile, in February contracts pending renewal they have reached 47, of which 15 belong to the public administration. In all, 5,4 million employees are involved (about 2,9 million in the public sector). 

In January, of the 74 agreements monitored by the investigation, 15 expired and the contract for metalworking employees was implemented. In February, on the other hand, neither expirations nor contractual renewals were observed. Therefore, at the end of the month, 27 contracts were in force, which regulate the remuneration of approximately 7,5 million employees, which corresponds to 54,6% of the total salary.

In the private sector, the incidence is 74,8%, with shares differentiated by economic activity: coverage is total in the agricultural sector, while it is 77,7% in industry and 70,9% in private services.
