in studio published by Istat on Italian regional exports in the third quarter of this year, it can be seen that, compared to the previous quarter, sales on foreign markets show a trend growth for all territorial divisions, even if in progressive deceleration. The most marked increase was recorded in the Center and in the Islands (respectively, +6,2% and +17,1%), the trend in the Northeast was more contained (+1,1%), while the trend in the South was almost stationary (+0,1%).
During the first nine months of 2012, among the regions that present the greatest contributions to the growth of national exports, the tendential increase emerges in Sicily (+16,8%) and Sardinia (+17,7%). Above the Italian average the performances of Tuscany (+8,6%), Puglia (+8,3%) and Umbria (+8,4%). On the other hand, there was a marked decline in Basilicata (-24,5%), Valle d'Aosta (-10,6%), Friuli-Venezia Giulia (-9,6%) and Molise (-9,0%). Lazio, with a tendential increase of 6,2%, is the region that provides the greatest contribution to thenational export to EU countries (+0,3 percentage points). Increases in sales on these markets were also recorded for Sicily (+9,8%) and Puglia (+4,8%), while Sardinia (-14,5%), Basilicata (-30,5%), Valle d Aosta (-14,6%) and Molise (-14,0%) present the worst results. As regards the sales on non-EU markets, Lombardy (+2012%) stands out among the regions that are characterized by the greatest trend increases in the first nine months of 10,2, given the excellent performance against Switzerland (+18,6%), USA (+20,0% ) and OPEC countries (+14,7%). Followed by Sicily (21,3%, with sales to the USA increased by 148%), Tuscany (+14,7%), Piedmont (+10,6%) and Emilia-Romagna (+6,6%). Without forgetting the very strong growth of Sardinian exports to OPEC countries (+198,7%). On the other hand, Veneto's exports to China (-29,0%), Sardinia and Sicily to Spain (-19,4% and -34,5% respectively), Campania to Switzerland (-26,8 .19,8%) and from Friuli-Venezia Giulia to France (-XNUMX%).
From sectoral point of viewsales of coke and refined petroleum products from Sicily (+20,7%), base metals and metal products from Tuscany (+27,0%), pharmaceutical, chemical-medicinal and botanical items from Lazio (+28,2%) and motor vehicles from Emilia-Romagna (+28,6%). Marked declines were recorded in the export of means of transport from Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Tuscany (respectively -43,7% and -21,2%), machinery and equipment from Friuli-Venezia Giulia (-16,3%), motor vehicles from Basilicata and Lazio (respectively -39,3% and -24,7%).
Among province, the performances of Arezzo (+28,4%), Taranto (+23,9%), Syracuse (+20,3%), Cagliari (+20,0%), Piacenza (+25,2%), stand out. Pavia (+10,3%), Alessandria (+10,0%), Florence (+7,5%), Monza and Brianza (+7,0%). On the other hand, sales from the territories of Trieste (-35,2%), Potenza (-29,5%) and Lucca (-9,2%) fell sharply.
