On the basis of data corrected for calendar effects, there was an increase in production of 5,1% over 2015 in the whole year, while in December there was a growth of 12,2% (again data excluding the calendar) on an annual basis and by 2,1% on November (seasonally adjusted data).

According to Coldiretti, the total expenditure to lay the Christmas and New Year's tables was 4,4 billion euros, 2% more than last year, according to the analysis by Coldiretti.

The trend of industrial and manufacturing production was not as positive French, which in December showed a decrease of 0,9% after the +2,4% revised upwards of the previous month (+2,2% the preliminary figure).
