The production prices of Italian industry are falling. According to data released by Istat, in fact, in October the producer price index of industrial products showed a decrease of 0,4% compared to the previous month and of 1,2% on an annual basis. Net of the energy sector, there was a decrease of 0,1% in economic terms and an increase of 0,1% in trend terms.
As regards products sold on the domestic market, prices fell by 0,6% compared to September and by 1,6% on an annual basis, while on the foreign market prices remained unchanged on a monthly basis and recorded a slight decrease by 0,1% compared to October 2013.
