The deficit/GDP ratio worsened in the first six months of 2014. This was communicated by Istat when it recorded, relative to the 2nd quarter of this year, the data on the net debt of Public Administrations (PA) in relation to GDP (data crude oils) which was equal to 1,1%, 0,4 percentage points higher than that measured in the corresponding quarter of 2013.

In the first two quarters of 2014, the ratio between net debt and GDP was 3,8%, with a deterioration of 0,3 percentage points compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

However, in the second quarter of 2014 the primary balance (debt net of interest expense) was positive, with an incidence on GDP of 4,3%, 0,3 percentage points lower than that of the second quarter of 2013.

In the first two quarters of 2014, total outflows amounted to 49,0% of GDP (49,4% in the corresponding period of 2013). Total receipts, on the other hand, decreased by 1,1% in trend terms, with an incidence on GDP of 45,2% (45,8% in the corresponding period of 2013).
