The index of the Statistical Institute on consumer confidence marks an improvement from 85,3 points in March to 86,3 in April – The component relating to the economic situation improves – Future and current climate indicators are growing.

In April, the consumer confidence index recorded by Istat increased, which rises to 86,3 points from 85,3 in March, thanks to the marked increase in the component referring to the economic situation (69,2 to 73,5 points), and despite the decrease in the indicator relating to personal climate, which fell from 91,4 to 90,5 points.

Growing the future and current climate indicators, which went from 80,3 to 80,8 points and from 89,2 to 90,1 respectively. Assessments on the country's economic situation also improved (from -147 to -137) and the related prospects (from -61 to -50). The unemployment index went from 104 to 109 points.

Assessments on the household's economic situation also improved (from -75 to -73 for assessments and from -30 to -29 for expectations)m while the balance of assessments on the household budget decreased (from -23 to -28). Savings opportunities are declining current and future (respectively from 132 to 121 and from -81 to -90 the respective balances). Consumer opinions on the opportunity to purchase durable goods go from -114 to -102.
