Improve business confidence. The relative November index elaborated by Istat, the Iesi, has risen to 83,2 from 79,9 in October. The trend of the overall index reflects the increased confidence of manufacturing companies, market services and retail trade, while there is a new decline in the confidence of construction companies.
In detail, the manufacturing business confidence index went from 97,4 in October to 98,1. Looking at the main groupings of industries (Rpi), we note an improvement in the indicator in consumer goods (from 97,2 to 97,5), in intermediate goods (from 99,0 to 99,2) and in capital goods (from 95,4 to 97,9).
The clearest leap forward is that made by business confidence in services, whose seasonally adjusted index rose from 74,9 in October to 80,5 in November. In the retail trade, the confidence climate index rose from 89,4 in October to 90,7. The index increased in large-scale distribution (from 88,0 to 91,2) and remained stable in the traditional one (at 91,0). As mentioned, the only decline was that of confidence among construction companies, from 80,9 to 80,0 in November.
