Unemployment is growing again in Italy. According to Istat data, in May the unemployment rate underwent a slight increase, settling at 12,6%, with an increase of 0,1% compared to April and 0,5% on an annual basis. This was announced this morning by Istat, specifying that the figure thus returns to the levels recorded in March, close to the all-time highs of 12,7% in January and February.
The number of unemployed is also growing, reaching 3.222.000, up by 0,8% on the month (26 units), and by 4,1% on the year (127 units). There are 15 unemployed between 24-700 year olds, while the unemployment rate among young people is 43%, down by 0,3% on the month, but up by 4,2% on the year.
