Istat: revised September inflation: +0,2% on an annual basis, -0,4% on August

Istat has revised downwards, from 0,3 to 0,2 per cent, inflation for September which remains unchanged compared to the data for August. Transport prices go down, food goes up

Istat: revised September inflation: +0,2% on an annual basis, -0,4% on August

 In September, the Nic consumer price index, according to final data from Istat, fell by 0,4% on a quarterly basis (revised from -0,3%) while it rose by 0,2% (revised from +0,3 .1,6%) on the same period of the previous year. The harmonized Ipca index for September was instead confirmed at +0,2% on the month and +XNUMX% on a trend basis.
 
  Inflation acquired for 2015 drops to +0,1%. “The decrease on a monthly basis in the general index is mainly attributable to the decrease – affected by factors of a seasonal nature – in the prices of services relating to transport (-4,0%), partially offset by the increase in the prices of non-food worked (+1,7%)”, explains Istat.

 Core inflation, calculated net of energy goods and fresh food, rose to 0,8%. Net of energy goods alone, inflation rises to +0,9%. The prices of the most frequently purchased products are unchanged on a monthly basis while they record a stable decrease of -0,3% on an annual basis. The prices of food, home and personal care products rose by 0,6% on a monthly basis and by 1,2% on an annual basis.
