In September, the national consumer price index (NIC) did not change compared to the month of August, according to what emerges from the monthly monitoring of Istat prices. On an annual basis, prices on the national territory grew by 3,2%, while the inflation acquired in the current year is confirmed at 3%. The final data do not present any changes with respect to the provisional data.

The calculated price increase excluding energy assets and fresh food recorded an annual increase of 1,9%, down from 2,1% in August. The figure reflects the decrease compared to August in the price of services, which can be traced back to the end of the summer season, offset by the increase in unregulated energy (+3,5% yoy).

THEharmonized index of consumer prices(Ipac) instead increased by 2,1% on a monthly basis and by 3,4% on an annual basis.

Consumer prices for families of workers and employees remain unchanged compared to August and recorded an increase of 3,1% compared to September 2011.
