The trend reversal in inflation on an annual basis is mainly due, according to the press release of the statistical institute, "to the marked reduction in the decline in the prices of both unregulated energy goods (-2,7%, from -7,0, 4,1% in August) and regulated (-5,9%, from -1,1%) and, to a lesser extent, to the recovery of the growth trend in the prices of services relating to transport (+XNUMX%)".

The harmonized index of the Ipca in August rose by 1,9% on the month and by 0,1% on the year. The inflation acquired for 2016 was equal to -0,1% against the zero change recorded in July. Core inflation, net of energy goods and unprocessed food, rose to 0,5%.
