Istat: July inflation at its lowest since 2009 (+1,1%)

in July theinflation Italy slows down again, returning to the levels of April and May, the lowest since December 2009. According to Istat calculations, consumer prices increased by 1,1% compared to July last year, against +1,2 .XNUMX% last month. In comparison with June, on the other hand, the figure has not undergone any variation.

The prices of the so-called shopping cart, i.e. the set of products purchased most frequently by consumers, fell by 0,2% on a monthly basis, but marked a leap of 2% on an annual basis (from 1,7% in June).

In general, the slowdown in inflation in July - underlines the statistical institute - is due "to the annual dynamics of the prices of all types of services, only partially offset by the acceleration of the tendential growth of the prices of most of the types of goods and, in particular, of non-regulated energy goods".
