Istat revises the data onJuly inflation at 3,1%, down from 3,3% in June, but with a slight increase compared to the provisional figure, which stopped at 3%. The increase on a monthly basis is equal to 0,1%. On an annual basis, the growth rate of the prices of goods fell to 3,8% from 4,2% in the previous month, while that of the prices of services remained at 2,0%.
The prices of the so-called shopping cart are also holding back. According to the final data provided by Istat, in July the prices of the products most frequently purchased by consumers decreased by 0,5% compared to June 2012 and the trend growth rate decreased to 4,0% (+4,4% on June).
In general, the inflation acquired for 2012 is confirmed at 2,8%. The underlying one, calculated net of energy goods and fresh food, is stable at 2,2%. Excluding energy goods alone, the trend growth rate of the consumer price index is stationary at 2,3%.
