Employment and wages down in large companies. In June, the seasonally adjusted index of employment in large companies elaborated by Istat showed a decrease of 0,1% gross of employees on redundancy fund compared to May, and of 0,3% net of those employed in Cig.
The contraction on an annual basis is even clearer: compared to June 2012, the raw index of employment in large companies recorded a decrease of 1,4% gross and 1,3% net of employed persons in CIG. On the other hand, always in comparison with the same month of last year, the number of hours worked per employee increased, +0,6%.
Still according to the numbers released by Istat, the incidence of redundancy fund hours used is equal to 34,1 hours for every thousand hours worked, a decrease of 2,9 hours for every thousand on an annual basis.
Compared to May, the gross salary per hour worked marks a drop of 2,7%, while in trend terms the raw index is up by 1,6%. On an annual basis, the gross salary and the cost of labor per employee recorded a decrease of 1,7% and 1,3% respectively. Considering the ongoing component, the gross salary per employee increased by 2,5% on an annual basis.
