Istat, employment in large companies is decreasing

On an annual basis, the decrease is 0,8% but the number of hours of Cig used also decreases and the number of hours worked per employee increases. Labor cost rises + 1,2%

In October theemployment in large companies recorded on a cyclical basis a decrease by 0,2% both gross and net of employees in the Redundancy Fund (Cig). This was communicated by Istat also making it known that on a trend basis, employment decreases by 0,9% gross of the Cig and by 0,8% net of employees in the Cig.

Net of calendar effects - the Istat note continues - the number of hours worked per employee (net of Cig employees) increased by 2013% compared to October 0,5. The incidence of redundancy fund hours used is equal to 27,1 hours for every thousand hours worked, a decrease of 2,3 hours for every thousand compared to October 2013.

In October the gross wage per hour worked (seasonally adjusted data) recorded a decrease of 0,8% compared to the previous month. In trend terms, the raw index increases by 0,4%. Compared to October 2013 the gross salary per employee and the labor cost per employee (net of Cig employees) increased respectively by 0,4% and 1,2%. Considering the ongoing component only, the gross salary per employee increases by 1% compared to the same month of the previous year.
