According to the findings of the National Institute of Statistics in 2011, the gap between the increase in hourly contractual wages (+1,8%) and inflation (+2,8%) has reached gap of 1 percentage point, the highest since 1995.
In December the gap even reached a difference of 1,9 percentage points: contractual hourly wages at +1,4% and year-on-year inflation at +3,3%.
Istat has specified that it is precisely the most important waste byAugust 1995, when it hit 2,4 percentage points.
