Istat: household income and consumer spending down

According to the Statistical Institute, household disposable income in current values ​​showed a drop of 1,9% on an annual basis – Consumer spending is down, -2,2% on the year – Profits and investments are reduced of non-financial companies.

In the third quarter of 2012 household income and consumer spending slip. According to data released by Istat, in fact, household disposable income in current values, despite the 0,5% increase compared to the previous quarter, fell on an annual basis by 1,9%.

Worse still was the trend in household expenditure for final consumption which, again in the third quarter, showed a contraction of 0,4% compared to the previous quarter and an even sharper one, of 2,2%, on an annual basis.

Non-financial companies are also bad. Still according to Istat data, in fact, in the third quarter their profit share showed a slight increase of 0,3% on the previous quarter, recording, however, a contraction of 2,4% on an annual basis.

The investment rate, on the other hand, fell by 0,3% to 20,3% on the quarter, while the decline recorded compared to the same period of the previous year was 1,9%.
