Consumer confidence in Italy is down in October compared to the previous month. The Istat communicates it. September recorded an index of 101,9 while in October it stopped at 101,4. The personal component decreased from 10,5 to 100,7 while the economic component suffered a more consistent decrease, from 105,4 to 101,3. The index referring to the current climate decreased to 100,6 from 102,6 while that referring to future expectations also decreased to 101,7 from 102,7. As regards the country's economic situation, both the balances of assessments and those of expectations decreased to -106 from -100 and to -16 from -9, respectively. Finally, with regard to the unemployment trend, the balance slightly increases from 58 to 56.
Istat always publishes the data concerning the judgments on the economic situation of the family. These record an increase from -56 in September to -55 in October, while as regards expectations, the balance drops to -18 from -13 last month. While the result of the assessments on the household budget decreases from -14 to -17 in October, the favorable opinions on the current saving opportunity mark an increase to 126 from 114 in September; as for future possibilities, there was a decrease to -49 from -47 in the previous month. Assessments on the possibility of purchasing durable goods also show a decrease (the balance is -78 from -69), while assessments and expectations relating to the dynamics of consumer prices undergo a slight surge: the balances here pass respectively to -12 from -16 and to -24 from -32.
