In June the Italian consumer confidence has remained at a minimum since at least the beginning of the Istat historical series, in 1996. Indeed, the index even dropped from 86,5 to 85,3 points. The Institute of Statistics notes it, specifying that the general economic climate drops markedly (from 64,2 to 59,7), while the personal climate shows a slight decrease (from 95,2 to 94,8).
They are declining both the indicator referring to the future climate (from 75,7 to 72,9), and, to a lesser extent, that relating to the current situation (from 96,4 to 95,5). Assessments and expectations on Italy's economic situation are worsening: the balance of the former drops slightly (from -140 to -141), while that relating to expectations recorded a marked drop (from -81 to -92). The balance relating to unemployment expectations increased (from 114 to 121).
The balance of assessments on the household's economic situation improved slightly (from -66 to -64), while expectations decreased (from -37 to -41). Assessments on the current savings opportunity worsen (the balance falls from 145 to 141), but expectations on future possibilities improve (the balance goes from -85 to -81). Assessments on the convenience of purchasing durable goods show a limited decrease (from -91 to -93).
The balance of assessments on the recent evolution of consumer prices is decreasing (from 87 to 80). Prospective assessments of the evolution over the next twelve months signal an attenuation of the inflation dynamics (the balance decreases from 44 to 34). At a territorial level, the climate of confidence improves slightly in the Center and decreases in the rest of the country.
