In the third quarter of 2013, the decrease was 0,9% compared to the same period of the previous year. This is the eighth consecutive drop in the services turnover index in Italy.
The data is from Istat. The institute explains that, compared to the third quarter of 2012, the turnover index on a trend basis marks an increase of 0,7% for transport and warehousing services.
Minus sign, instead, for all the other sectors. Information and communication services slip by 4,7%. Those of accommodation and catering by 2,3%. The drop in the index of the wholesale, trade and repair services of motor vehicles and motorcycles was less marked, slipping by 0,6%. In the same period, the seasonally adjusted turnover indices show a positive cyclical change for the wholesale trade and that of the maintenance and repair of motor vehicles.
