Istat: record exports in January +13,3%

A golden January for Italian exports. The growth recorded by Istat is 13,3% on an annual basis, a leap driven by the non-European area. It is the largest increase since last August and imports grow even more (+15,5%).

Compared to the previous month, exports increased by 0,5% and imports decreased by 0,2%. The trade balance is equal to -574 million (down from +34 million in January 2016).

Net of energy, there is a surplus of 2,7 billion euros.

In trend terms, net of the difference in working days (21 in January 2017 against 19 in January 2016), the increase in trade with foreign countries is more limited: +10,7% for imports and +10,1% for % for export.

The Aesan countries (+57% on January 2016), Russia (+39,4%), China (+36,5%), the United States (+35,8%), Japan (+28,8 %) and Germany (+9,6%) are the most dynamic export markets among the main outlet markets.
