Istat: new GDP calculation system from October

A new accounting system for measuring GDP will be used in Italy and most EU countries from October. This is the 2010 version of the ESA (European Accounts System) which is defined by Eurostat. This was communicated by Istat, according to which this new method could bring out significant revisions of the data recorded from 1995 onwards.

The adoption of the SEC could also have an impact on the other "critical quantities for the governance of the EU and of each member state", namely "the debt/GDP ratio and the debt/GDP ratio". The first release of the data calculated with this system is scheduled for 3 October.
