The turnover of Italian industry collapses, with a contraction of 0,9% in March compared to February and as much as 7,6% (net of seasonality) on an annual basis. This was revealed by Istat, which specifies that it is the fifteenth consecutive trend decline, the strongest since October 2009. The raw figure speaks instead of an annual decline of 10,7%.
On a monthly basis, the decline recorded is the synthesis of a decrease of 1,7% on the domestic market and an increase of 0,5% on the foreign market. The overall index of the average of the last quarter marks a contraction of 2,3% compared to the previous three months.
On an annual basis, however, there was a drop of 10,6% in turnover on the domestic market and a drop of 1% on the foreign market. The internal component of intermediate goods is down sharply.
Still in March, the orders of the industry make a mark a month-on-month increase of 1,6%, mainly due to the net growth of 3,6% in foreign orders. The data on orders, however, shows a decrease of 10% on an annual basis.
