In April the index that measures the trust of Italian companies it slumped to 74,6 points from 78,5 in March. This was communicated by Istat, specifying that the decline is due to the worsening of confidence in manufacturing, market services and construction companies. Conversely, the climate of confidence in retail trade improved.
In particular, narrowing the gaze to the sun manufacturing companies, the general index fell from 88,6 to 87,6 points; production expectations and judgments on order books from -3 to -5 and from -43 to -46 respectively and judgments on inventories from 0 to -1.
The analysis of the climate of confidence by main groupings of industries (Rpi) reveals a worsening of production expectations in consumer goods (from -2 to -5) and in intermediate goods (from -5 to -9). Capital goods, on the other hand, remained stable (-1).
The confidence climate index in construction companies it dropped from 79,8 in March to 78,2. Assessments on construction orders and/or plans improve slightly (the balance varies from -53 to -52), while expectations on employment worsen, going from -13 to -17.
On the other hand, the general index among the market service companies, down from 73,6 in March to 68,2. Assessments worsened (from -23 to -32) and, less significantly, expectations on order books (from -11 to -16). Expectations on the general economic trend also decreased (from -53 to -56).
In Retail, the confidence climate index increased from 75,4 in March to 77,4.
