Almost 15 billion euros: this would be, according to Istat calculations, the total cost of CBI, according to the bill n.1148 presented by the Movimento 5 Stelle, and estimated at approx 14,9 billion euros by the Institute of Statistics.
The figure was provided by the president of the institute, Giorgio Alleva, during the hearing before the Labor and Social Security Commission of the Senate. The expenditure would be destined for 2 million and 759 thousand families with an income below the poverty line (10,6% of families residing in Italy).
In the Istat Annual Report, the total cost of the measure was initially estimated at 15,5 billion, in a hypothetical application in 2012: the lower cost of today's estimates is mainly due to the fact that in 2015 there is a bonus of 80 euros per month , which slightly reduces the scope of the measure.
