In June, the figure fell by 0,6% on a monthly basis, net of employees in the redundancy fund - Gross wages per hour worked instead recorded an increase of 1%.

In June, employment in large Italian companies fell by 0,2% on a monthly basis. Net of employees in the redundancy fund, the reduction is obviously larger, equal to 0,6%. Also in June, the gross wage per hour worked instead recorded an increase of 1% compared to the previous month. In trend terms, the raw index increased by 1,1%. The data was communicated today by Istat, which specified that the number of hours worked per employee (again net of employees in Cig) recorded a decrease of 2011% compared to June 0,5.

The incidence of redundancy fund hours used is equal to 38,0 hours for every thousand hours worked, with an increase compared to June 2011 of 8,9 hours for every thousand.

In services, employment marks a negative variation of 0,1% gross and 0,2% net of the CIG in cyclical terms. The raw indices recorded tendential decreases equal to 0,7% gross of the Cig and 1,0% net of the latter.

Gross of the CIG, the index decreased, compared to June 2011, by 2,6% in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, by 1,6% in the manufacturing sector, by 0,4% in construction sector and 0,1% in the water supply sector; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities.

In the services sector, employment gross of Cig recorded annual increases of 2,4% in rental activities, travel agencies, business support services, 0,9% in information and communication services and 0,4% in the trade. Negative trend changes are found in professional, scientific and technical activities (-6,0%), in the transport and warehousing sector (-2,3%), in accommodation and catering activities (-1,9%) and in financial and insurance activities (-0,6%).

Compared to June 2011, gross remuneration per employee (net of Cig employees) grew by 1,9%; the same change is also recorded for labor costs.

Considering only the ongoing component, the gross salary per employee increased by 1,9% compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the period January-June 2012, the gross salary per employee increased by 0,4% compared to the same period of the previous year, while labor costs increased by 0,6%.
