Industrial production falls in February, down in February. The relative seasonally adjusted index, in fact, decreased by 0,8% compared to January and by 3,8% on an annual basis. This was communicated by Istat which adds that thecrude index of industrial production plunged by 7,6%.
The index also decreased on average for the quarter: in the period December-February there was a decrease of 0,9% compared to the previous quarter and of 3,7% on an annual basis.
Compared to February of last year, the only growing sector is that of consumer goods (+1,0), while especially capital goods (-9,4%) and energy (-8,9%) slip . As for the sectors, the production of food, beverage and tobacco industries is increasing, while the manufacture of means of transport collapses, -16,1%.
