The reaction against the film about Mohammed was also manifested in the same hours of this Friday prayer in many other countries. A restaurant of the American fast food chain KFC in northern del Lebanon it was set on fire by a group of protesters.

About 200 demonstrators organized a protest sit-in in front of the US embassy in the afternoon Damasco, closed for several months.

Meanwhile, thousands of Palestinians protest in the Gaza Strip and hundreds more gathered in front of the Al-Aqsa mosque in the old city of Jerusalem. The demonstration started peacefully, but then some groups clashed with the Israeli police, who fired tear gas canisters and warning shots to disperse the crowd.

A protest by Salafi Islamists was also held today at Amman, Jordan, near the US Embassy. Riot police set up a security cordon around the diplomatic headquarters.

Demonstrations and clashes are also recorded in Iran, Egypt e Pakistan.
