Turin turns out to be “the city with the most district heating in Italy”. This was underlined by the president of Iren Francesco Profumo when he inaugurated the new “Martinetto” heat storage plant in Turin, an integral part of the city's cogeneration and district heating system.
With the new plant, a volume of 56 million cubic meters will be reached (over 55% of the buildings) equal to 560 inhabitants. “The Iren Group – underlined Profumo – is already today the national leader in the district heating sector which will see further growth in the next few years thanks to plant efficiency and the development of networks in particular in Turin and Parma. We are counting on increasing the volumes currently served by over eleven million cubic metres”.
