Iren: Peveraro new president

The mayors of Turin, Genoa and Piacenza have decided to entrust Paolo Peveraro with the presidency of Iren, until now occupied by former minister Francesco Profumo. The latter, in Mayor Fassino's intentions, should take over the leadership of the Compagnia di San Paolo, which is preparing to renew 90% of its offices. Until a few days ago, the candidate in pole position was Alessandro Lorenzi, president of Smat and a prominent figure in Eni.

Peveraro was councilor in Turin for two terms, first with Castellani and then with Chiamparino, and vice president of the Piedmont Region with Mercedes Bresso. Together with Franco Reviglio, president of Aem at the time, he brought the municipalized company of the municipality to the stock exchange. It was Peveraro who made possible the merger between Aem and the homologous Genoese company Amga from which Iride was born. Peveraro's footprints can also be found in the birth of Iren, the result of the merger between Iride and the Emilian Enia.

Until last year, Peveraro was chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Iren representing the minority shareholders. Now Peveraro, who has meanwhile returned to his old job at Deloitte, is back at Iren as president. He will be joined by the Emilian Rocchi, who will be reconfirmed as vice president, while the CEO remains the Genoese Bianco.

Today at the end of the morning, Iren's share on the Stock Exchange gains 0,6%, to 1,59 euros.
