Cdp-Iren agreement for the efficiency of 800 public buildings Torino. The Reggio Emilia multiutility and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti have signed a contract for a line of green financing of 100 million euros – with a duration of 12 years – aimed at financing the energy improvement of 800 public properties in Turin. In reality, the operation had already been started last July by the Iren Smart Solutions division with investments already made of 10 million and, explains a press release, "envisages numerous energy requalification interventions of public buildings, as well as ordinary, extraordinary and of bringing the systems up to standard and the supply of energy carriers (electricity, natural gas, district heating)". The objective, continues the note from the parties involved in the initiative, is to obtain "a saving on energy consumption, at the end of the planned interventions, of more than 30%".

“The subscription of this credit line with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti – he stated Luca Dal Fabro, president of the Iren Group - highlights the alignment of the Group's sustainability objectives with the industrial and financial ones. These interventions are evidence of the role that multi-utilities can play in the territories in the complex process of ecological transition underway: through Iren Smart Solutions, in fact, we support municipalities, businesses and local institutions in general in redeveloping their assets, improving their sustainability and initiating efficiency and infrastructure development paths for the territories. This operation represents an excellent opportunity for the City of Turin to redevelop its real estate assets."
“The financing signed makes us particularly proud – he declared Massimo DiCarlo, deputy general director and business director of Cdp - as it will make possible an intervention aimed at increasing energy efficiency on a large number of public buildings in the city of Turin. The initiative confirms CVdp's primary role in supporting this sector and reaffirms our commitment to supporting the implementation of projects that have a positive impact on the environment and on the Italian territory. Constant work also confirmed by the results highlighted in our latest Integrated Report: in 2022, over 70% of the resources committed by the Group - 20 billion out of 30,6 - were in fact allocated to the sustainable development objectives of the UN Agenda 2030" .
“The financing obtained from Iren – commented the mayor of Turin, Stephen Lo Russo – supports the agreement signed with the City thanks to which 800 municipally owned properties will be energetically redeveloped by the end of 2029 with the aim of making them more efficient from a consumption point of view and more sustainable from an environmental point of view".
