iPhone13 arrives in September, leap of St. Here's all the news

The appointment is for the end of the year but the math is already being done: Apple has asked its manufacturers to prepare to raise the production of the new iPhone 20 by 13%, bringing deliveries to 90 million pieces. Bloomberg writes it, citing informed sources on the matter, and the news has already gone around the world. All the suppliers of the Cupertino house are on the rise: in Asia, today afflicted by flat or declining indexes, Taiwan rises thanks above all to Apple's suppliers. Among them, the Colossus Taiwan Semiconductor marks a +7,84%. Same fate in Milan for ST Microelectronics (St) +2,08% at 12:49 on Wednesday morning.

The push, as has been said, comes from California where Apple is preparing to ride the growing wave of the post-Covid rebound, facilitated by the massive vaccination campaign. The New iPhone 13 will therefore in all probability be released ahead of schedule and should be within the usual September window, at the end of the year. The next iPhone arriving – the second of the house capable of surfing on the 5G network – will also be facilitated by the restrictions imposed on Huawei in the US. A further push to the Cupertino strategists to turn up the volumes.

IPHONE 13 IN SEPTEMBER, TECHNICAL NEWS

The new mobile coming this year it will be more innovative of the previous iPhone 12 and will push the accelerator on the processor, camera and display improvements, according to sources cited by Bloomberg. The news will concern all the models on sale - currently labeled with code names, respectively D16, D17, D63 and D64 - with a extension from 5.4 to 6.1 inches for the “regular” models and from 6.1 to 6.7 for the Pro versions.

Going into the technical details again, at least one of the new versions will have a LTPO display (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) capable of updating the refresh rate based on the content being viewed. The technology has already been tested on Apple Watch for several years and is capable of slowing down the screen update in certain situations in order to increase battery life. Oppo, OnePlus and Samsung Electronics Co. already use LTPO shields on their flagship models.

Among other innovations, Apple plans to reduce the facial recognition sensor or finally to remove it altogether in the future. Apple spokesmen are not commenting on the rumors which also include an improvement in zoom. For the rest, the iPhone should maintain a good continuity in the overall design.

IPHONE IN SEPTEMBER, IMPACT ON THE STOCK MARKET

Considering the trend of St in Stock Exchange, investors are therefore not frightened by rumors about the scaling of the sensor FaceID - which it represents, he points out Equity, more than half of ST's revenue with Apple – and potentially even eliminate it in future releases.

“The above is consistent with the indications already provided by St herself – writes the broker – who had said she expected a flat turnover of her imaging business in 2021, mainly linked to the 3D FaceID sensor of the iPhone, with a probable drop in the second half seen the decline of semi-content”.

According to Equita, consensus estimates on the Apple's revenue see growth of more than 20% for the 2021 financial year (which ends in September) but only 4% for 2022, so the news if confirmed would be positive in general for the supply chain even if for St, which in 2020 generated 24% of sales with Apple, uncertainty remains linked to the decline in semi-content per unit.
