IoT: Olivetti (Tim) buys 100% of Staer Sistemi

Olivetti acquires 100% of Staer Systems, a company that develops products for the Internet of Things. Tim's subsidiary communicates this in a note, specifying that with this operation it will be able to "further rationalize its distribution chain, accelerate the time-to-market of its products and guarantee end-to-end control over the entire IoT value chain , as well as increasing and strengthening references on complex design solutions, also for the development of other IoT business segments (Safety and security Industrial Solutions, Building Management Systems)”.

Staer Sistemi is based in Rome and specializes above all in the design and construction of low energy consumption sensors "for the control of plants, machinery and infrastructures, mainly for the energy, utilities and infrastructures, telco and broadcast market sectors", continues the note.

Olivetti had already tightened an industrial alliance with Seco, another company that deals with the Internet of Things. The acquisition of Staer Sistemi, therefore, allows the Tim group company to "strengthen the design and production engineering capabilities in the IoT field, allowing it to be positioned as a leader in the supply of end-to-end solutions, both for the of customized projects and for the standardization of shelf services”, continues the note.

“With this operation – he comments Quang Ngo Dinh, Chief Executive Officer Olivetti – we are taking another step in the evolution process of Olivetti, which wants to establish itself on the national market as the reference operator in the offer of IoT solutions for companies and public administration. The acquisition of Staer allows us to equip ourselves with multi-sector skills in the development of software and integrated systems, allowing us at the same time to create value and seize an important opportunity for development and digital evolution".
