Inwit, half-yearly profit up: +21,6%

Revenues and profits growing for Inwit, the Telecom Italia Group company active in the electronic communications infrastructure sector, specifically those dedicated to hosting radio transmission equipment, for telecommunications and the broadcasting of television and radio signals.

The board of directors chaired by Francesco Profumo approved the accounts for the six months ended 30 June which are confirmed as progressively increasing in terms of both turnover from the main mobile radio operators and the profitability of its infrastructures.

Going into detail, in the first half of 2017, revenues only climbed to 173,8 million euros (+5,4% compared to the same period of 2016), of which: 129,0 million euros deriving from the service contract with Tim, the Master Service Agreement; 43,0 million euros from other customers, including all the main Italian mobile operators and other radio network operators; 1,8 million euros deriving from hospitality on newly built sites.

Ebitda is also growing, equal to 90,6 million euros (+13,7%), with a margin on revenues of 52,1% which, as the company explains in a note, "reflects the increase in tenants present on the site fleet and the reduction of rental costs of the spaces”

Ebit settled at 84,6 million euros, with an increase of 15,7% compared to the first half of 2016, while the net profit for the first six months of the current year rose by 21,6% to 59,1 million euro.

Industrial investments for the half year amounted to 14,7 million euros (up 3,1 million euros compared to the same period of 2016) and include the purchase of land and surface rights as well as the construction of new traditional infrastructures ( new sites) and new generation (small cell). Net financial debt fell to 57,6 million euros, down by 24,7 million euros compared to 30 June 2016.

"The results of this half-year are confirmation of the solidity of our business and the validity of our growth path" - comments Oscar Cicchetti, CEO of Inwit. “We are convinced that operators in their evolutionary path from 4G to 5G will increasingly need traditional and innovative wireless infrastructures and Inwit wants to seize all present and future opportunities by supporting operators in their radio network development paths and investing in the construction of new sites, in cellular micro-coverage systems, in fiber connections”.
