The company of towers Inwit he acquired for 70 million euro about 700 radioelectric systems and 32 Das (distributed antenna systems) from Vodafone Italy. This was announced by the telecommunications group in a note, specifying that the plants cover a thousand kilometers of road and motorway tunnels.

The tunnel package "includes significant sections in national connections due to their number, conformation and need for cellular coverage in the tunnel", while the Das included in the operation include "some important hotels, stadiums, sports facilities and offices".

The acquisition "positions Inwit as a national long-term connectivity player in the road segment and is part of the digitization process in support of smart roads - continues the note - which will require IoT systems to acquire and transmit information relating to the state of the infrastructure traffic and for monitoring safety conditions, as well as strengthening the company's role in the indoor roofing market (Das)".

It should be remembered that from 31 March 2020, thanks to an agreement with Vodafone Italia, the merger of Vodafone Towers Italia into Inwit was completed.
