Invitalia, new development contract for businesses

Minister Calenda and the CEO of Invitalia Arcuri present the new development contract which will make it possible to support large-scale strategic and innovative investments by reducing the timing - Calenda: "We aim for 51 contracts by June" - 10 have already been signed yesterday

Reduced times and fast track for resources. These are the characteristics of the new development contract, the instrument that supports large-scale strategic and innovative investments on which the Ministry of Economic Development is aiming to support the competitiveness of Italian companies.

The instrument, presented by Minister Carlo Calenda and CEO of Invitalia Domenico Arcuri, in fact envisages a strong reduction (-30%) of the times for evaluating the proposals and for disbursing the subsidies, going from 150 to 110 days overall. However, an acceleration is also requested from companies, which will have to send the communication of the start of the investment within six months of signing the contract at the latest, under penalty of forfeiture of the concessions.

The large development contract proposals also envisage a direct role for the regional administrations which, through the stipulation of specific agreements, can co-finance the development contract and the necessary activities. “Our challenge – explained Calenda – is to activate 51 development contracts by June 2017, thus activating 2,5 billion of investments in which the government puts 950 million”.

At the presentation of the new tools were signed ten development contracts: Besana, Lucio Garofalo Pastificio, Aeroviaggi, Monticchio Gaudianello, Renovo Bioedil, Ge Avio, La Doria, Natuzzi, Cartiera Confalone, 45 Parallelo.
