Invitalia-Microsoft: agreement on digital transformation

Invitalia and Microsoft have signed an agreement aimed at promoting the digital transformation of the National Development Agency. The purpose of the agreement is in fact to simplify internal processes and improve the quality and speed of services for the granting of incentives to businesses.

Taking advantage of the strategic consultancy of a partner of the caliber of Microsoft, Invitalia will renew its technological infrastructure by implementing Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence to optimize the process of evaluation and disbursement of loans and making interaction with the Agency's IT platform easier. Users will therefore have the opportunity to request the concessions, know the status of their loan application in real time - for example through dedicated apps - and participate in the events in which Invitalia guides potential beneficiaries and explains how the incentives work.

The agreement between Invitalia and Microsoft also provides the joint creation of a Digital Lab, i.e. a "competence center for creating a platform on the cloud that is useful for the Agency to carry out scouting activities in the territories and carry out analyzes capable of assessing the quality and impact of the measures adopted. To this end, Microsoft will make its experts and digital advisors available to define the strategies necessary to develop new services, start technical tests and create pilot projects.

Professional training courses are also planned for employees of the National Development Agency.

“Thanks to Microsoft Invitalia takes another step forward in the innovation of its internal and external processes – he commented Dominic Arcuri, managing director of the Agency – The management and analysis of Big Data for cognitive, but also predictive purposes, will allow us to better understand the territories to which we address and the beneficiaries of our concessions to have digital tools available, easy to use , to know the status of your investment proposals. This is what a transparent, open, flexible, proactive and at the same time fast and close to people public agency must do”.

“We are proud to cooperate with Invitalia to accompany it on its digital transformation journey, because we are sure that the new technologies will be able to give a further boost to the country's economic growth, contributing to the Agency's strategic action in support of development, employment and the revitalization of crisis areas and the South. Invitalia has already supported 840 innovative startups and supported over 114.000 initiatives with self-employment, but it is important that these funds are well oriented towards realities with great potential, which as they grow can play a role in the competitiveness of the territory. Thanks to the new Digital Lab, we will join forces to create sustainable innovation projects which, by leveraging Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence, can improve the process of evaluating and disbursing loans in the name of greater speed and security, thus making it more funds are accessible for the most promising ideas and organisations,” he said Silvia Candiani, managing director of Microsoft Italy.
