The top management of Invitalia has been renewed. Bernardo Mattarella is the new CEO of the agency "State" which deals with the development of the Italian entrepreneurial system and support for innovative startups and SMEs. Instead, Rocco Sabelli will go to the presidency of the company.

Arcuri leaves after 15 years

After 15 years, Domenico Arcuri therefore leaves the guide of Invitalia. “Today my experience at Invitalia ends. And today is not a day of pain, recriminations or regrets, because a few are given the opportunity for fifteen years to make available to their fellow citizens what little or much they know. To work for what is used to define the common good. This opportunity was given to me. And I am grateful and proud of this”, declared Domenico Arcuri, adding “the Invitalia I am leaving owns 5 companies, has a turnover of 159 million euros (351 consolidated), has a profit of 80 million. Total assets are 7,2 billion. It employs 2.385 people: 1 manager for every 33 employees. It is the development holding company of the Italian government. It has a large portfolio of incentives for companies that want to invest and for citizens who want to undertake in our country". 

We recall that between March 2020 and March 2021, Arcuri had also held the commissioner for the coronavirus emergency. 

Who is Bernardo Mattarella

Bernardo Mattarella, nephew of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, arrives at the top of Invitalia after a long process of internal growth, which led him from the position of financial director in 2007 to head of the Incentives and Innovation business unit until 2017. He is currently the managing director of the Banca del Mezzogiorno-MedioCredito Centrale taken over by Invitalia in 2017.

Who is Rocco Sabelli?

Rocco Sabelli instead he had a long career in companies such as Eni and Telecom Italia and was also CEO of Alitalia, leading the rescue project developed by the Berlusconi government under the direction of Banca Intesa.
