Investindustrial evaluates takeover bid on Club Med

investindustrial could launch a takeover bid on Club Med. This was communicated by the fund of the group headed by Andrea Bonomi in a note to the AMF, the French Market Authority.

The announcement came after the Authority had asked a Strategic Holdings, the company controlled by Bi Invest which became the first shareholder of Club Med with 10,7%, to clarify the group's intentions towards the world's number one holiday village.

In a separate release, Strategic indicates that it "may consider an alliance with Investindustrial" in the context of a takeover bid on Club Med, taking a minority stake in an investment company led by Investindustrial itself.

It would therefore be "a concerted action", but at the moment - specifies Strategic - no decision has been made.
