The reorganization (and related appointments) of Intesa Sanpaolo's Private Banking and Asset Management Divisions was already communicated in December, but it became effective this week. In the Private Banking Division, the BoD of Fideuram – Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking has therefore formalized the appointment of Paolo Molesini as Chairman and Tommaso Corcos (formerly Eurizon) as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager. In 2019, the division recorded total assets under management at a record level of €242,7 billion, up 14% compared to the beginning of the year (€213,1 billion), and consolidated net profit reached a new high historic at 906 million, up 9% compared to 2018.
“It is an honor for me – he commented Thomas Corcos – take the lead of the Private Banking Division of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group. My first thought goes to my new colleagues: men and women who, under the excellent guidance of Paolo Molesini, have made Fideuram – Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking a point of reference for the entire world of financial consultancy. The corporate culture that reigns in our Division is a source of extraordinary wealth that I intend to enhance in the future as well, by pooling everyone's skills. I can count on a human and professional heritage of the highest level, thanks to which we will continue to guarantee an increasingly competitive and up-to-date service model".
In Asset Management Division instead, the Eurizon BoD ratified the appointment of the new Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Saverio Perissinotto, who therefore leaves his previous position as General Manager of Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking. At the end of December, Eurizon reached its historic record of 335,5 billion euro: the consolidated net profit for the year (including minority interests) amounted to 518,5 million euro and the from fees and commissions at 799 million euros, respectively up by 11,5% and 14% compared to 2018.
“I am proud – said Saverio Perissinotto – to take responsibility for a dynamic and innovative reality, made up of a team of professionals with extremely high-level skills, historically recognized by the market. Entering Eurizon, one perceives a strong sharing of corporate values, on which Tommaso Corcos has done a great deal of work. I welcome this important legacy with enthusiasm to face with an excellent team the new challenges in the asset management industry in Italy, where Eurizon already has a leadership role today, but also abroad, where it has an increasingly significant weight”.
