Intesa Sanpaolo renews alliance for circular economy

Intesa Sanpaolo renews its partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation for another three years, an organization that promotes the global transition towards the circular economy. Since 2015, the Italian bank has been the Foundation's only global partner for financial services.

“Circular economy means cultural transformation – says Carlo Messina, CEO of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group – supporting this model means reducing the exploitation of natural resources that are by definition exhaustible at a systemic level. We want to accompany the transition of our businesses towards a winning model that is attracting ever more huge resources: 320 billion of new investments inspired by sustainability and innovation are expected at European level in the next few years. Adopting the circular model allows our entrepreneurial system to create new development, new jobs and evolve towards more advanced technologies: in a single word, it offers important opportunities for more responsible growth towards the future".

Ellen MacArthur, Founder of the Ellen MacArthur Foundationsaid she was "pleased to continue the partnership with Intesa Sanpaolo to promote the common ambition to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy".
