Intesa Sanpaolo: remote study loan, here's how it works

Intesa Sanpaolo has launched a new loan, called XME StudioStation, intended for families who have to face expenses to allow their children to adequately deal with it remote study.

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced many students to approach distance learning. According to data, 2 out of 3 high school students teach lessons interactively, connecting via video conference with teachers, and 6 out of 10 middle school students use the latest generation software. However, the same data show that 1 out of 5 students, 20% in percentage terms, was unable to follow the teaching remotely due to the lack of technological equipment. In absolute numbers we are talking about 1 million students.

The new Intesa Sanpaolo loan is therefore designed for those who need to buy hardware and software or have to pay an internet subscription fee to get their children to study.

It is to this audience of consumers that Intesa offers micro-loans, the amount of which varies from 500 to 1.500 EUR. The money must be repaid over a period of between 12 and 48 months at a 0% rate. "The long amortization - underlines the bank led by Carlo Messina - brings the installment to a maximum of 31 euros per month, or 1 euro per day".

They will be able to access the loan families with children with an ISEE (Indicator of the Equivalent Economic Situation) not exceeding 40 thousand euros.
“The loan is designed to have sustainable installments with a minimal impact on the family budget, thus allowing parents to be able to give continuity of access to their children's distance education. Young people are our future and culture is certainly an essential factor for their training as well as one of the engines for the relaunch of our country", he underlined Stephen Barrese, head of the Banca dei Territori Division.
