To get Italy out of the crisis, we need "a government that behaves differently from the current one", both "above all in terms of growth and development projects". This was stated by the managing director of Intesa Sanpaolo, Corrado Passera, on the sidelines of the presentation of the Galleries in Piazza della Scala.
The manager then commented on the asset valuations in the latest EBA tests, which “clearly penalize Spanish and Italian banks compared to banks in northern Europe. I found it unwise to do the exercise of devaluing public debt in the Eurozone because it is a totally inconsistent message with what Europe is saying about the fact that, apart from a possible Greek problem, there will be no other problems in other countries ”.
For Passera it was “inconsistent and of little use to the banks and the real economy that are financing recovery and growth projects in many countries. However, anyhow, they made this decision and I respect an unwise decision”.
