The Cariplo and Compagna Sanpaolo Foundations want the Turin economist Gian Maria Gros-Pietro to remain as president of Intesa Sanpaolo. In view of the April meeting, the Foundations presented their list for the 18 members of the new board of the banking group which this year returns to one-tier governance based on the classic board of directors and for the presidency they voted for the confirmation of Gros -Peter.
The Foundations also hope that Carlo Messina will remain at the helm of the group as CEO and that Paolo Andrea Colombo will rise to the vice-presidency. Now the floor is up to the assembly, where in theory foreign funds have the majority but are usually not very present and not very active.
