Intesa Sanpaolo launches the green mortgage

Attention to environmental sustainability is not on paper, but is increasingly turning into deeds. And that is in investments and choices, in particular of the banks that take advantage of the changes underway and decide to direct their loans in a different way, to concretely support the global objective of decarbonisation. This is the case of Intesa Sanpaolo, the leading Italian bank by number of customers and for years now engaged in significant initiatives in support of the environment, culture and solidarity. The latest news is an offer of “green” financing, i.e. mortgages and personal loans that reward those who buy properties with high energy efficiency (class greater than or equal to B) and those who carry out a redevelopment aimed at increasing their energy class with advantageous rate conditions.

The choice is not accidental, given that the relaunch decree launched by the government also provides for a very substantial Ecobonus, or the incentive of up to 110% for the environmental and energy requalification of buildings (today in Italy only 30% of buildings belong to a medium-high energy class, all the rest need to be adapted). Intesa Sanpaolo's next step will be its own the credit advance provided for by the decree, which will allow the customer to carry out the necessary work and therefore to increase the value of their home even if they do not have the necessary resources. The possible interventions range from the larger ones such as the insulation of the building, to the smaller ones such as the replacement of fixtures and the installation of the latest generation boilers.

The new "green" offer, in line with the European Energy Efficient Mortgage Action Plan, to which Intesa Sanpaolo has adhered, is available in the form of a loan for restructuring and mortgages for the purchase or renovation, also for terms of up to 40 years and for loans at 100% of the value of the house, with no amount limits (subrogation excluded). In addition to providing a discount on the mortgage rate, the bank led by Carlo Messina is also economically responsible, in the event of energy requalification of the building, of the energy performance certificate (APE), essential to demonstrate the transition to an energy class superior. Not only that: Intesa has also provided some additional services, in collaboration with companies specialized in providing professional assistance on ecological issues.

Finally, for each "green" loan disbursed, Intesa Sanpaolo announces that it will pay a contribution to WWF project for the protection of bees, the precious insects that guarantee the survival of the plant species essential to the life of the planet.
