Intesa Sanpaolo finances the voluntary Ape

Intesa Sanpaolo is the first bank to finance APE requests (Financial advance as a pension guarantee) of workers who, at the age of 63 and with a minimum of 20 years of contributions, want to leave work early by taking advantage of a bridging income that accompanies them to retirement. From today, the flexibility instrument, introduced on an experimental basis by the 2017 Budget Law and extended until 2019, can actually be requested through the INPS website.

Stefano Barrese, head of the Banca dei Territori, he explains: “Intesa Sanpaolo managed to meet an urgent social need in a very short time, i.e. the availability of financing, an indispensable means of accessing the APE. All this in line with our broader commitment to providing tools capable of giving greater security to the third stage of life through a range of solutions, from supplementary pension schemes to the protection of one's health and loved ones with targeted insurance solutions ”.

The loan takes the form of a bridging income with a maximum duration of 43 months, which Intesa Sanpaolo will pay to the applicant until he starts receiving the old-age pension. The monthly amount is established by the applicant according to what his future pension will be. The rate, fixed from the time of disbursement, is the same for the entire banking system: it is regulated by the framework agreement and is updated every two months by the ABI. The APE provides for a tax deduction of up to 50% of the interest rate and insurance coverage. The latter is mandatory and is provided by a third-party company, protecting the heirs in the event of the holder's predecease. The duration of the loan is set at 20 years, but it is possible to request partial or total early repayment.
