Intesa SanpaoloIn partnership with ADAPT Foundation, presented the results of the research entitled “Welfare for people. Sixth ADAPT Report on occupational and corporate welfare in Italy".

The study highlights the importance of delve deeper into the topic of corporate and occupational welfare in the face of an increasingly long-lived population and a significant decline in birth rates. A type of welfare considered crucial for integrate the social protection system and promote economic democracy.

22 CCNL analyzed

In the research, they were examined 22 National Collective Labor Agreements (CCNL) relating to the metalworking, chemical-pharmaceutical, food industry, tertiary distribution and services, and craft sectors. The analysis included a longitudinal perspective, examining both the latest contractual agreements and texts since 2003. Regarding company bargaining, more than 5.000 second-level agreements were consulted from the FareContrattazione database, stipulated in the five main contractual sectors , allowing the identification of various good practices.

Since the first edition of the Report in 2018, lanalysis and mapping of collective bargaining with aindustrial relations approach have allowed us to integrate a variety of welfare elements which, if observed separately, would lead to a partial and distorted understanding of the phenomenon as a whole.

Welfare in the artisan sector was analysed

In the sixth edition of the Report, the occupational welfare in the artisan sector, highlighting the important role played by bilateral negotiation at national and local levels. Furthermore, the analysis of how occupational welfare is connected to the dynamics of the labor market continued, with a focus on the Lazio Region.

The thematic analysis focused on link between health and work, in consideration of the increased interest in health within organizations, as highlighted in previous editions, and the transformations in the role of supplementary health funds established through collective bargaining.
